Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CVU/CPCU)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This role involves caring for telemetry and step-down patients requiring close monitoring, advanced nursing assessments, and specialized cardiac care. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience and be comfortable managing patients with cardiac, medical, and surgical conditions in a progressive care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and telemetry patients.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
• Perform fingerstick blood glucose monitoring and related interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience within the last year.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
• Telemetry nursing experience.
• ACLS Certification.
• PALS Certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
• Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation and monitoring.
