Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The LVN will provide essential nursing care to patients in various settings, including pediatrics, medical-surgical units, and inpatient care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient welfare, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition.
• Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy and catheterization.
• Provide care for patients in various departments, including ER and inpatient settings.
• Engage in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients leaving the facility.
• Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Educate patients and their families about health management and post-discharge care.

Skills

• Proficient in pediatric nursing care and ventilatory support systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices.
• Ability to phlebotomize effectively while ensuring patient comfort.
• Experience in emergency room (ER) settings is a plus.
• Familiarity with discharge planning processes to enhance patient recovery at home.
• Competence in catheterization techniques for various patient needs.
• Understanding of infection control measures to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and team members.

Qualifications

• Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state where the hospital resides.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
