Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER

Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Emergency Department team. In this vital role, you will assess medical needs, determine severity, and provide immediate interventions to stabilize patients and minimize long-term complications. You will serve as the first line of care for patients in emergency situations, utilizing advanced critical thinking and clinical expertise to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process, clinical judgment, and critical thinking to provide comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Department.
  • Assess patient needs, plan individualized care, and delegate appropriately to support staff.
  • Evaluate and document patient responses, revising care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and timely discharge planning.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding conditions, medications, and post-discharge care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a compassionate approach in every patient interaction.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or current enrollment in a BSN program (preferred)

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience (required)

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Illinois (required)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications (required)
  • SANE Certification and ability to take call preferred
