Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CVU/CPCU) travel assignment in Hawaii. This position involves caring for telemetry and step-down patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring and specialized nursing care. The unit consists of progressive care and step-down level patients, offering an excellent opportunity for nurses with telemetry, cardiac, and acute care experience to expand their clinical skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for telemetry and progressive care patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and identify changes in clinical condition.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
• Conduct fingerstick blood glucose monitoring and related interventions.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage patients with cardiac and medical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

Qualifications

Required

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience within the last year.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Strong assessment and patient care skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Preferred

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
• Telemetry nursing experience.
• ACLS Certification.
• PALS Certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation experience.
