Overview

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This role provides care for hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable patients requiring advanced monitoring, telemetry, and specialized nursing interventions. The ideal candidate will have strong step-down, telemetry, and acute care experience, along with the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and step-down patients.
• Perform detailed patient assessments and monitor for clinical deterioration.
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and cardiac monitoring data.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac drips according to established protocols.
• Manage patients with advanced medical devices and monitoring equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Assist with staff orientation, mentorship, and clinical leadership activities when needed.
• Support medical-surgical units when staffing needs require.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification.
• Current PALS Certification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, Step-Down, Telemetry, or Critical Care experience.
• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC Certification.
• ENPC Certification.
• Pediatric Nursing Experience.
• Post-Cardiac Catheterization Care Experience.
• Experience with ventilator management and invasive monitoring.
